Global Citizenship
Course Description:
This semester, students will examine the historical roots of as well as the contemporary manifestation of globalization as it defines the world today. The course will begin with a definition of globalization, as well as the articulation of the opportunities as well as challenges thereof. Utilizing a wide variety of historical and contemporary media, students will explore the role of geography and technology in the global age, the concepts of human rights and justice, poverty and prosperity, economics and the changing marketplace, international relations, and the use of terror as a means to achieve political and ideological goals.
