life. What did it mean to be Roman?
Your task is to research the following questions and complete each assigned task.

- How is daily life for rich and poor Romans
similar and different? (H)
Your task is to
identify three categories then design a graphic
organizer comparing and contrasting each category with the information you've
uncovered. Remember to cite your sources. Rubric
- Why did the emperors of Rome go to so much
effort and expense to entertain the poor people? What might have happened if they ignored
the poor? (H,E)
Pretend you are a Roman
Senator. Your task is to write an editorial (persausive writing) either in favor for or
against Roman policy of entertaining the poor. Your editorial should be a
minimum of three paragraphs. Remember to cite your
sources. Rubric
- Describe the contribution of Roman civilization
to law, literature, poetry, architecture, engineering, and technology. (H)
Your task is to
choose one contribution from Roman civilization and make an informational
placemat. Your placemat should contain important information to be learned as
well as a layout that is colorful and interesting. Placemats should be large
enough to accomodate a place setting of dishes and silverware. Remember to
cite your sources. Rubric
- Describe the characteristics of slavery under
the Romans. (H)
Your task
is to write a diary entry discussing life as a Roman slave. Your "Dear
Diary" entry should reflect your innermost ideas or reflections on Roman slavery.
Your diary should be a minimum of 200 words. Diaries record
events, emotions, and reactions that affect you. Remember to cite your
sources. Rubric
