FERMAN L. TURNER
Custodian 1961 - 1984

Honesty, dignity, and kindness were the hallmarks of Ferman Turner’s work. He performed his assigned responsibilities thoroughly and carefully, and was always willing to take on additional chores and extra assignments. Ferman, moreover, generously shared his knowledge of local history and his collection of firearms, lecturing and demonstrating to many classes over the years.

Ferman never believed that there was a “bad” boy or girl at Mount Greylock. Some, perhaps, were “mischievous” or were found where they should not have been, but he always viewed such students with gracious good humor.

For twenty-four years, the students and graduates of Mount Greylock were Ferman’s children and friends, and he was their faithful supporter.
