DR. WILLIAM R. CLARK
History Teacher, Principal 1961 - 1985

Dr. William R. Clark was Mr. Mount Greylock. Throughout his years as coach, teacher, and principal, he was a friend and counselor to students. Bill had a way of dealing with both staff and students that made them respect him and work for him.

By listening carefully, considering all sides of the matter, and devising insightful solutions, Bill worked tirelessly to build morale and to maintain high standards. He often worked behind the scenes to help both teachers and students with personal matters. A man with an unerring sense of fair play, he knew his faculty well and treated them professionally.

He had the highest regard for the school, often saying, “The greatest teachers and students in the country are right here at Mount Greylock.”
