Carousel

Gallery

Through the fire doors, the District Office is on your right. And in the window is this magnificent carousel. The carousel was one of our most complicated windows. It incorporates yellow nuggets for the lights and mirror and German crystals decorating the top. The iridescent blue and beige glass can be seen in the background and at both top and bottom. The children holding hands at the bottom, and the horse leaping off the carousel symbolize Betty Deblois, middle school guidance counselor here from 1971-1997.  The school gives an annual award in memory of Mrs. Deblois for service to the school, the community, and oneself. The window was created in March, 1998 and the design was a composite of four carousels. Hang a right after the District Office and you're heading down the east corridor.  About midway down on your right is the "Half Dozen or So" Gallery.  Throughout the school year, the Gallery hosts a series of art exhibits of all stripes: sculpture, painting, photography.  And welcoming visitors to the Gallery is the window above, dating to June, 1988.
