Mount Greylock Partners
The Partners are composed of energetic parents, staff, students, alumni and community members who value public education. The first project for the Partners was a Workday on Saturday, October 4, 2003.
On that day 265 volunteers, under the direction of Anne Hogeland, worked together to improve the appearance of our school. For more than ten hours they were scraping, washing, cleaning, painting, planting, and building.
Furthermore, these efforts were supported by area businesses that contributed paint, plants, cleaning supplies and food to assist the volunteers. We wish to thank the following businesses for their contributions
| Aubuchon Hardware | Berkshire Ivy Gardens | Butler Wholesale | Caligari Hardware |
| Chris Kapiloff, painting | Countryside Landscaping | GH Housen-Snapple | Greenbergs Lumber |
| Latson and Latson | Orion Analytical | Petricca Construction | Taconic Lumber |
| Robert Emmons, painting | Williamstown Savings Bank | Wohrles Foods | Wonder Nissen |
Their contributions and the efforts of the volunteers exhibited an appreciation for Mount Greylock and its students. The contributions and volunteerism also demonstrated an important trait of responsible citizens: a concern for the common good and a willingness to work for the benefit of others.
We want to thank Anne Hogeland for her outstanding coordination of the workday. We also want to thank the businesses and the volunteers for their contributions to the school. Our students surroundings have been enhanced by the workday, and their education about responsible citizenship has been strengthened by the example of the volunteers.
