Citizen

The Citizen will:

  1. Define and give examples of some of the rights and responsibilities citizens have in society. (C)
  2. Give examples of fictional characters or real people in the school or community who were good leaders and good citizens, and explain the qualities that made them admirable (e.g., honesty, dependability, modesty, trustworthiness, courage). (C)
  3. Give examples of the major rights that people have acquired as citizens. (e.g., the right to vote, and freedom of religion, speech, assembly, and petition). (C)

If being a citizen addresses the responsibility of the individual, then how is a citizen represented in this society?

The role of the citizen is to write a five-paragraph paper describing the individual of their chosen country. Citizens are to generate three focused research questions that enable you to answer the essential question: What do citizens value in this society? And why?

Research steps:

      1. Identify topic
      2. Gather information
        1. Locating resources
        2. Scanning and evaluating resources
        3. Make decisions to narrow your topic
          1. To develop essential research questions
