Please notify colleges promptly of your intent not to accept their offer of admission. Mrs. Gill should be notified of all decisions regarding college and financial aid awards.

REMINDER: If you are applying to a college that has a Feb. 1 (or earlier!) deadline, your request (pink sheet) to send your transcript must be received by your guidance counselor no later than Jan. 12.

Seniors are reminded to submit a completed STUDENT DATA SHEET and Parent Brag Sheet to their counselor to aid in the college recommendation writing process. Only then will the counselor schedule an appointment to meet with you.

EARLY DECISION and EARLY ACTION candidates should make an appointment to see your counselor immediately.

The COMMON APPLICATION and many college and university applications are on file in Guidance for your use. The COMMON APPLICATION is also available online at www.commonapp.org.

If you are applying for financial aid, you may need to submit the CSS PROFILE form; check your college for requirements. Pick up your registration form in Guidance. The FAFSA should be available in December.

Students who plan to participate in intercollegiate athletics at an NCAA Div. I or II institution can access NCAA Clearinghouse registration materials at www.ncaaclearinghouse.net and click on "Prospective Student-Athletes," which will link you to the registration materials. For more information about NCAA, visit www.ncaa.org, pull down the Parent/Prospect page and click on "Guide for the College-Bound Student-Athlete," or pick up a booklet in the guidance office.

FAFSA: The FAFSA paper version will be available in late November and should be filled out as soon as possible after Jan. 1. To apply for federal assistance loans and grants and work study programs using their Web sites, contact:

www.fafsa.ed.gov for FAFSA on the Web instead of filling out a paper form. The 2003-2004 FAFSA on the Web becomes available Jan. 1.
www.studentaid.ed.gov provides details about the entire financial aid process, from considering which college to attend, to applying for aid, to repaying loans. Complete the Pre-application Worksheet to help guide you through the FAFSA.
www.pin.ed.gov is used to create your PIN to electronically sign your FAFSA, Renewal FAFSA, corrections, and accessing the National Student Loan Data System. You can do this now before you start filling out the online FAFSA. If you provide an e-mail address on your FAFSA and sign with a PIN, you can receive your FAFSA results almost immediately.
